Addo were appointed for a fourth year running as Creative Agents as part of the Arts Council of Wales’ Lead Creative School Scheme for projects at 3 Schools in Wales. This year the projects focussed on Developing Creative Leaders in schools by pairing newly participating schools with a school that had already taken part in the Lead Creative Schools Scheme to mentor them through working with a creative practitioner on a project in their school. Lead Creative School Ysgol Bryngwyn (Llanelli) was paired with St John Lloyd Catholic Comprehensive School (Llanelli), Lead Creative School Ysgol Glan-y-Môr (Burry Port) was paired with Ysgol Y Castell (Kidwelly) and Lead Creative School Ysgol Llandrillo-yn-Rhos (Colwyn Bay) was paired with Ysgol Pen-y-Bryn (Colwyn Bay). The individual projects in each school still sought to meet the overall aims of the Lead Creative Schools Scheme, which sought: to provide opportunities for schools to explore new and exciting creative approaches to teaching and learning across the curriculum, supporting them to address issues, important development priorities and the needs of learners; to develop the creativity, aspirations and achievements of young people in Wales, opening up more opportunities for their future and to support innovation and the development of long-term partnerships between schools and creative professionals.
