Cambrian Lakeside Caffe Bar, Cambrian Industrial Park, Clydach Vale, Tonypandy, CF40 2XX
Do you live or work in Mid Rhondda?

Are you interested in addressing and challenging perceptions of disability?

Do you want to increase participation in cultural activity and the arts in Tonypandy, Trealaw, Penygraig, Clydach or Llwynypia?

If so, you are warmly invited to discuss and share ideas for an exciting new contemporary art project called Fourteen, which aims to address and challenge perceptions of disability in the Mid Rhondda.

addo has recently been awarded funding by Community Foundation in Wales through the Fourteen programme to work with Mid Rhondda communities (Tonypandy, Trealaw, Penygraig, Clydach and Llwynypia) to produce a contemporary art project that addresses and challenges perceptions of disability in all its forms (e.g. sensory, physical, mental health illness, issues that affect the elderly) and increases participation in cultural activity and the arts.

The Research & Development Phase of the project has just started and so we’re inviting anyone living or working in the Mid Rhondda and with an interest in addressing and challenging perceptions of disability to join us to discuss and share potential ideas, opportunities, contraints, partnerships and issues for the project.

This event takes the form of a drop in session and will help to inform how the project is developed and produced.

You’re invited to drop in for few minutes or stay for longer, grab a cuppa and chat about your ideas.

Refreshments will be available.

Working in partnership with Disability Arts Cymru / Celfyddydau Anabledd CymruRhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Arts Development Team and Mid-Rhondda Communities First, the Fourteen Project will seek to benefit people living in the geographical community of Mid Rhondda, which includes the areas of TonypandyTrealawPenygraig, Clydach and Llwynypia.

The venue is wheelchair accessible and has parking close by.  There will also be two Palantypists/SLI. Please email sarah@addocreative.com to tell us about any access requirements you may have.

If you can’t make the event but are interested to find out more about the project or get involved, please email sarah@addocreative.com.
