Everything You Need to Know If You Are a Teacher Wanting to Work with Freelance Artists

10:00 – 15:00, 12 July 2017, Riverfront Arts Centre, Newport, NP20 1HG

This workshop is aimed at teachers who have either never worked with an artist or cultural organisation or who want some expert advice on enhancing their processes when working with artists.

The workshop will cover:

  • An Introduction to the All Wales Offer strand of the Creative Learning Plan
  • Why the Arts: understanding the distinct contribution the arts can make to learning and inclusion
  • Understanding how artists work and the language they use to describe their practice
  • How to work with Artists & Cultural organization partners
  • Planning, contracts, monitoring, evaluating & funding projects
Facilitator

This workshop is delivered by Addo, a not-for-profit visual arts organisation specialising in commissioning art in the public realm and will have interactive elements. By the end of the session, delegates should have enhanced their knowledge of the why, what and how of delivering art projects in schools.

We Pay For Cover

To help teachers take advantage of our professional development opportunities, the Arts and Education Network: South East Wales can contribute up to £100 to the cost of supply cover for teachers working in teachers who live and/or work in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport or Torfaen.

Anelwyd y gweithdy hwn at athrawon nad ydynt naill ai heb erioed weithio gydag artist neu sefydliad diwylliannol neu sydd eisiau cyngor arbenigol at wella eu prosesau pan fyddant yn gweithio gydag artistiaid.

Bydd y gweithdy yn cynnwys:

  • Cyflwyniad i linyn cynnig Cymru Gyfan y Cynllun Dysgu Creadigol
  • Pam y Celfyddydau: deall cyfraniad neilltuol y celfyddydau i ddysgu a chynhwysiant
  • Deall sut mae artistiaid yn gweithio a’r iaith a ddefnyddiant i ddisgrifio eu hymarfer
  • Sut i weithio gydag artistiaid a sefydliadau diwylliannol sy’n bartneriaid
  • Cynllunio, contractau, monitro, gwerthuso a chyllido prosiectau

Cyflwynir y gweithdy gan Addo, sefydliad celfyddydau gweledol dim-er-elw sy’n arbenigo mewn comisiynu celf yn y parth cyhoeddus a bydd yn cynnwys elfennau rhyngweithiol. Erbyn diwedd y sesiwn, dylai cynrychiolwyr fod wedi ychwanegu at eu gwybodaeth o pam, beth a sut i gyflwyno prosiectau celfyddydau yng Nghymru.
